Project 7 electricty

Over the past week room 7 has been learning about electricty. First we made power points in groups and  then we chose an electicity source. After that we made board games for room14 beacause they have been awesome to us.

Angry Birds Fever!

Yesterday, the 29th of June, Room7 had the most fun ever.  We made our own design of an Angry Birds tower. Vincent and Tavake got to build their ones and we had a go at knocking them down. Only one person knocked the tower over.  That was Jahvan. We all got a turn and had two goes.  Mr Mason had five goes and got all of  them except for one. Wiri did the same except he only had two goes.  We also recreated our designs using PowerPoint animations.  Below are a few samples of what we came up with.

Project 7

Project 7
Tomorrow we are starting Project 7 with the Ferns students. Project 7 is when we teach younger students different games and activities. We are wanting to give them different experiences and skills. The purpose behind Project 7 is to encourage the younger students to play in a positive way. For Room 7, it is for us to be seen doing the right thing. So, first of all our first idea was basketball, but we had to change our activity because the little kids said it was boring. I also think that the skills were too hard for them. So now, we're doing something that they will enjoy… Jump Jam. I'm hoping that by doing Jump Jam with them they won't be so shy to come up and see us if they need a hand with any thing. When I choose my little Fern's, I hope they will be enthusiastic to take part. I am looking forward to it very much.

Key Competencies

Room 7 have been exploring our Roslyn School Key Competencies.  Here is an example from some budding film makers who enjoy putting this short movie together and playing with the tomato sauce sachets.  Nice job boys.

Hot Cross Buns

Yesterday Room 7 had a fantastic time baking Hot Cross Buns.  They were pretty labour intensive but the end result was worth the effort.  Well done Room 7 for producing some very delicious Hot Cross Buns.
